The Temptation of Chocolate

For many years, the color brown has taken a backseat to black, from the world of fashion to home décor to jewelry. Not anymore.

This season, brown is the leading color for the most fashionable and complexion-flattering jewelry — and our sales associates are excited about the new ways to showcase it. For an exciting alternative to black and white, consider the many different shades of brown and the many varieties of gemstones that provide it.

First, start with freshwater pearls. New from our spring ‘09 collection are multi-tone designs using a newly perfected chocolate color. This unique, enhanced shade has been under development for several years. No color changes or fades from these beauties! Stylish new designs include a 72-inch rope that can be wrapped, twisted, knotted, and coordinated with a bracelet and earrings. All boast a warm chocolate glow that will enhance any outfit.

Perfect for everyday wear are perennial favorites such as lever-back earrings and pearl station necklaces using chocolate rather than white pearls. The combination of 14-karat yellow gold with the pearls’ subtle brown shadings gives these classics a totally modern appeal.

To achieve the ultimate sparkle, chocolate diamonds provide romance and style in a broad spectrum from the palest champagne to the deepest cognac. Set in either white or yellow gold and contrasted with white diamonds, these shimmering gems add a sparkle to any outfit.  Finally, if your preference is colored gemstones, the chocolate option is very wide. For jewelry with a sporty, contemporary flair, choose the fascinating iridescence of tiger’s eye or moonstone in an array of subtle brown shades. Or, for a really dramatic look at a moderate price level, consider the versatile smoky quartz or the multifaceted brilliance of Madiera or honey citrines.
